Secret Service: Sandpoint man made repeated threats against former President Trump

SANDPOINT — A Bonner County man was arrested by the Secret Service in August for making repeated threats against Former President Donald Trump, according to court documents.
Sixty-four-year-old Warren Jones Crazybull, of Sandpoint, was arrested in Missoula, Mont., on Aug. 1 after Secret Service was able to trace him using phone data.
Crazybull was indicted Aug. 20 and has pleaded not guilty to one count of making threats against a former president, which is punishable by fines and/or up to five years in prison. He is currently on a U.S. Marshal hold at the Kootenai County Jail.
According to the criminal complaint, Crazybull made at least nine phone calls to Trump’s private Mar-a-Lago resort July 31, in which he made threats against the former president’s life.
According to Mar-a-Lago security, the phone call originated from the same number with the Caller ID “Warren Jones.”
The Secret Service said they also discovered a Facebook page appearing to belong to Crazybull that had several public posts “concerning violence and anger towards former President Trump and Mr. John F. Kennedy,” according to court documents. Crazybull allegedly admitted to writing the Facebook posts after his arrest.
"I'm leaving Sandpoint at 12:00 am #Trump2024. I'm coming for you ..." one post read. Other posts referred to Trump as a “serial predator” and a “coward,” according to court records.
Court documents say Crazybull told law enforcement that he wrote the Facebook posts to get the attention of law enforcement, and that the former president had “violated treaties and thereby deprived him of his land.”
Interviewing law enforcement described Crazybull as appearing “paranoid.”
Crazybull is due in court for a pretrial conference Oct. 15, and his trial is scheduled to begin Oct. 28.
