Sandpoint Middle School's Esports team showcased their skills in a dominant 13-0 victory over Eagle Rock Middle School of Idaho Falls in Valorant on Friday, March 14.

The team, which consists of students Beau Schmidt (marctheplummer), Everit Taylor (PigChes1), Aiden C. (redhead), Jackson Grima (thegoat), and William Nipps (pigglywiggly), left no room for doubt as they controlled the match from start to finish.

The standout performer of the game was Taylor, playing under the gamertag PigChes1. He earned match MVP honors with an impressive 10 eliminations. His precision and strategic playmaking proved crucial in Sandpoint’s flawless victory.

"Everit really showed up today and we just let him cook," Schmidt, Sandpoint's team captain, said of Taylor’s performance.

Coach Dalton Hawkins (Datrix) acknowledged the rapid improvement of the young team.

"They're a young team that doesn't have a lot of experience in the game, but they have seen considerable growth in the short time playing, and were able to show that," Hawkins said. "In the next couple of years, Sandpoint Middle and then Sandpoint High will have some strong teams coming through soon. If they stick with it, I could see a state trophy when we get to high school competition."

With this victory, Sandpoint Middle School cements itself as a rising force in the middle school esports scene. If their performance against Eagle Rock is any indication, the future looks bright for these young competitors.
