SANDPOINT — 2020 Sandpoint High graduate Brandon Casey is hoping for a shot to continue his football career at the next level.

At the University of Montana's annual Pro Day, Casey, who made 44 career starts for the Griz at right tackle, including 42 straight over the last three seasons, put up some great numbers in front of 21 pro teams Thursday — 13 from the National Football League (NFL) and eight from the Canadian Football League (CFL).

The following teams had scouts attend the event to watch Casey and six other Griz participants: NFL — Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, Houston Texans, Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, Oakland Raiders, Miami Dolphins, Minnesota Vikings, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks. CFL — British Columbia Lions, Calgary Stampeders, Edmonton Elks, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Montreal Alouettes, Ottawa Redblacks, Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Early Thursday morning at the Washington-Grizzly Champions Center, Casey checked in at 6 feet 5.5 inches tall and 309 pounds to go along with a hand measurement of 9 3/8 inches and a 78 1/8-inch wingspan. During the testing span of the day, Casey pumped out an impressive 27 reps on the 225-pound bench press, clocked a 30.5-inch vertical and sprung to a mark of 9 feet even in the broad jump. In the sprints, the two-time All-Big Sky First Team selection put up times of 5.50 seconds in the 40-yard dash, 4.65 seconds in the pro shuttle drill and 8.03 seconds in the 3-cone L drill.

In addition to a pair of Big Sky honors, Casey received All-American honors from both Stats Perform and the Associated Press after his senior season. Casey was also named the team's Paul Weskamp Award winner, which is given to the most outstanding offensive lineman. His junior year, he helped paved the way for three 600-plus yard rushers and three 600-plus yard receivers on an offensive line that was No. 3 in the FCS in first downs. His senior season, he helped Montana to 2,741 rushing yards — a number that ranked top 20 in the FCS and the most the Griz have rushed for in the past four years according to the University of Montana Sports Information Department. If that wasn't impressive enough, Casey, who won the starting jump during fall camp of his sophomore season, propelled the Griz to 305 first downs to date in 2024, a four-year high and the seventh-most in the FCS.

Casey's success on the field was supplemented by his success in the classroom. He was named Academic All-District his senior season and was a four-time Academic All-Big Sky honors recipient who maintained a 3.53 grade point average while earning his undergraduate degree in management and entrepreneurship as well as a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Montana College of Business.

The 2025 NFL Draft will be held Thursday, April 24, through Saturday, April 26, at Lambeau Field and it's adjacent Titletown District; it's the first year the draft is being held in Green Bay, Wisc. The 2025 CFL Draft will take place Tuesday, April 29, in Toronto, Ontario.
