Greater Sandpoint Chamber welcomes Sandpoint Family Acupuncture
SANDPOINT — Sandpoint Family Acupuncture was recently welcomed to the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce at a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Kay Madsen, a licensed acupuncturist, recently opened Sandpoint Family Acupuncture, 111 Cedar St. A Sandpoint native, she returned this past year to her family and true home after some 40 years “wandering the earth” after graduating from Sandpoint High School in 1981.
Madsen brings 23 years of experience as a licensed practitioner of Chinese medicine from her practice in Maryland, with a prior decade of being an attorney in Washington, D.C. She said she is excited to be back home living amongst her family, but to also be able to offer her healing expertise to the community she loves.
The ancient art of acupuncture is used to promote general good health, Madsen said. It also offers drug-free relief for many health conditions, including those that often aren’t well resolved by modern mainstream medicine, she added.
The comprehensive treatments include a thorough health evaluation, while addressing specific issues with all the traditional tools of Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, herbs and cupping as well as newer modalities, such as infrared red-light therapy.
