Andrew Lightbody, 46
Andrew Jon Lightbody of Sandpoint, Idaho, passed away on April 4, 2025, at the age of 46.
Born in Helena, Montana, on November 26, 1978, to Robert (Jay) and Teresa Lightbody, Andy arrived 14 minutes after his twin brother, Matthew.
Andy attended elementary school in East Helena and Helena, and graduated from Helena High School in 1997. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Montana. He was — and always will be — a proud Griz.
His childhood was filled with baseball and football games, wrestling matches, camping trips, boating adventures, and bird hunting. Andy deeply appreciated growing up in Montana. The changing seasons felt almost spiritual to him—especially fall, which he loved most, just like his dad and his brother.
After college, Andy moved to Seattle, where he worked in sales for several tech companies. It was there that he met his wife, Amy Ingram. In 2014, they moved to Sandpoint, Idaho, when Andy joined Kochava. They were thrilled to live in such a beautiful and welcoming community.
On June 3, 2015, Andy and Amy were married on Magens Bay Beach in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. They welcomed their son, Riggs, in 2016, and their daughter, Tatum, joined the family in 2018. Andy proudly announced that the Lightbody family was complete.
Andy loved that Riggs shared his passion for sports. He cherished the hours spent coaching or playing baseball with his son, and would gladly throw a football or shoot hoops as long as Riggs wanted. They loved watching games together, with Riggs tracking every team’s stats.
Tatum was the light of Andy’s life. His smile would brighten at just the mention of her name. She’ll tell you she’s a daddy’s girl — and she’s right. She says everyone should know her daddy’s recipe for the best butter noodles. Andy often said she was the kindest, sweetest human being he had ever met.
Andy felt truly blessed to live in Sandpoint. Boating on Lake Pend Oreille with his family brought him joy and peace. He hoped those moments would stay with his children forever. He was proud to be part of Kochava and of its role in the Sandpoint community.
After a long and difficult battle with alcohol addiction, Andy tragically chose to end his life. Though he was a strong man in both stature and spirit, that strength wasn’t enough to overcome this cruel disease. He is missed deeply by those who loved him. The outpouring of love and support from friends, coworkers, and classmates has been a source of great comfort. His family finds peace in believing that Andy is now held in the arms of our Savior, and reunited with his brother, Matthew.
Andy was preceded in death by his twin brother, Matthew; his paternal grandparents, Bob and Pat Lightbody; and his maternal grandparents, Donald and Janice Redmond.
He is survived by his wife, Amy; his children, Riggs and Tatum; his parents, Jay and Teresa Lightbody; his mother-in-law, Trudy Ingram; his aunts and uncles, Mike Lightbody, Mark and Lynn Keller, Pat Redmond, Larry and Debbie Redmond, Kevin and Terri Redmond; and many beloved cousins.
