Conference aims to empower women through financial literacy, knowledge
North Idaho’s five counties will soon come together for a groundbreaking new event — the inaugural North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference.
The free one-day educational experience is designed to empower women of all backgrounds with critical financial knowledge and tools.
Taking place in Coeur d’Alene at North Idaho College on Monday, June 9, and is expected to attract 500 women from across the region. The day-long event will run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to choose from 15 breakout sessions on a range of topics. Breakout sessions will cover essential money management skills for women including talks on entrepreneurship, financial empowerment, health care finances, mortgage pre-approval and identity theft prevention.
Additional topics focus on credit management, effective money communication, financial stability planning, insurance selection and estate planning strategies tailored for women.
Seats will be allocated on a first-registered basis, so early registration is strongly encouraged to ensure a spot. Online registration opens at 8 a.m. Monday, April 28.
STCU’s Here for Good Foundation is the signature sponsor for keynote speaker Ellen Rogin, New York Times best-selling author and nationally recognized money expert.
In addition to STCU, Numerica, ICCU, and Mountain West banks have all committed significant financial support — not only to fund the conference itself, but also to the NIWATM scholarship fund. In addition, local businesses and individual donors have stepped up to champion financial empowerment for North Idaho women. As host venue, NIC will be offering free parking on the day of the event. Breakout sessions will take place in NIC classrooms, providing attendees with a vibrant sense of campus life, camaraderie, and shared learning — further enriching the overall experience.
During the conference, attendees have the chance to win one of more than 20 $1,000 NIWATM scholarships to North Idaho College. These scholarships support vocational training, workforce development, and credit-based educational programs. Attendees can indicate their interest in being considered for a scholarship directly on the registration form. At the close of the event, winners will be randomly selected and announced live. As contributions to the scholarship fund increase, so does the number of scholarships to be awarded to the 500 women attending the conference.
The North Idaho Women and Their Money Conference is organized by a wholly volunteer committee, unaffiliated with any business or product promotion. All efforts are focused on creating an inclusive, supportive environment for women to gain the knowledge and tools they need for financial independence.
