Noyes joins Newport Health Center

NEWPORT — Newport Health Center recently added physician assistant Laura Noyes to its express care team. 

In addition to her passion for rural healthcare, Noyes brings experience in emergency care and wilderness medicine. She comes to Newport from Clearwater Valley Health in Orofino.

"The primary care and walk-in services we provide at Newport Health Center are even better thanks to Laura's unique and varied background and expertise." 

Noyes received her master's degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Washington's Spokane campus, where she still tutors and serves as a guest lecturer. A lover of all things outdoors, she once monitored the breeding patterns of Peregrine falcons while working for the National Park Service. 

She and her husband, a forest ranger, recently relocated to the area with their young son. 

"We've been travelling to this area for a while for skiing and outdoor recreation, so I'm thrilled to now be able to call it home," Noyes said. "I'm looking forward to getting to know the community." 

Newport Hospital and Health Services is owned and operated by Pend Oreille County Public Hospital District and was originally established in 1921. Located in Newport, Wash., the district employs providers to cover health needs for primary care, express care, obstetrics, emergency services, anesthesia, wound care, and surgery (general, orthopedic, podiatric, and gynecological).

NHHS offers visiting specialty clinics, including dermatology, cardiology and nephrology; outpatient services including full-service diagnostic imaging, laboratory, pathology, and rehabilitative therapies. NHHS also offers same-day surgical services and has a fully staffed medical acute care unit.
