Climate change, weather are not the same thing

To illustrate Monte Heil's twisting and cherry picking, I said he was a "climate change" denier, not a climate denier.

The humorous first part of my last letter was actually making fun of that well-known brainiac Marjorie Taylor Green who claimed hurricanes were being aimed at red states by Joe Biden and the Democrats. The mentions of bleach on the Great Coral Reef and in the Gulf of Mexico, along with the carnage of more frequent violent weather events in the Midwest being the product of AI, I have seen at one time or another.

Sarcasm is an effective method of pointing out the often-ludicrous statements that you should believe the opinion of someone with no training in a certain discipline instead of your own senses and the evidence of "educated" scientists. People with no agenda except to warn the rest of us that if we continue on the course we're on, a climate disaster will be inevitable if it's not too late already.

Clearing brush, huh? On West Sunset Boulevard? The evidence speaks for itself. This type of fire, anywhere in California in January, the wet season, is totally unprecedented — at least in recorded history. The fire season used to be from around mid-August through early October. Now it's year around.

The climate change evidence is illustrated by wild swings such as two years of drenching rain spurring a lot of vegetation growth. Then this summer it was bone dry. What mitigating measures could the red states have taken to stop the two back-to-back hurricanes that went through the South last November? Cut the brush?

Mr. Heil's true agenda is political — blame the evil communist Democrats for everything that goes wrong. All the while proclaiming the sainthood of his hero, the current president now on a rampage with Elon Musk. A rampage of a convicted felon who will make enemies of our neighbors and raise our prices with senseless tariffs. Didn't he run on the pledge of bringing down the price of eggs?
