Valentine craft event announced
Create is hosting an origami class for Valentine's Day, with participants learning how to use the art of paper folding to make a special gift.
Two sessions of the workshop will be held Wednesday, Feb. 12, at Create Art Center, 900 W. Fourth, Newport. Sessions will begin at 1 p.m. and at 3:30 p.m.
Preregistration is required and can be done online at createarts.org or by stopping by the center. Each class is $15.

Song writing program announced
Area youth interested in learning how to craft a song are invited to take part in a interactive song writing program starting Feb. 13 at Create Art Center, 900 W. Fourth, Newport. The class will begin at 3 p.m. and is aimed at those between 10-14 years old.
Classes will be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of the month. The free class is provided by the Kalispel Tribe of Indians.
Preregistration is required and can be done at the center or online at createarts.org.

Duo sets Feb. 22 concert
Carl Rey, on harmonica, and Truck Mills on strings, will perform in a special concert at Create Art Center on Saturday, Feb. 22, at 7 p.m.
The duo have been performing together in the Inland Northwest region at concerts, clubs and music festivals for over 20 years. They add their love of traditional blues, country, rag time jazz and vocal harmonies to the varied material they perform.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. There is no charge for students.
