Idaho's initiative process doesn't need any changes
Idaho's citizen initiative process seems to be working just fine: Voters very clearly said yes to Medicaid Expansion and no to Prop 1. Why mess with it?
Could it be that far-right legislators know that a 2026 ballot initiative to restore access to abortion and protect all other types of reproductive care is what the majority of Idaho voters want? Recent polls certainly say so.
It's important to tell our legislators that the latest round of bills attacking Idaho's ballot initiative process are a clear attempt by certain GOP lawmakers to avoid accountability and silence their own voters. Please call or write to them. It works! Thanks to making our voices heard, the most recent bill to repeal Medicaid Expansion died in committee last week.
