Wonk funded by IFF-affiliated, out-of-state group
I read the article about Wonk in Sunday’s paper. So cool, right? A couple of local boys trying to bring unbiased civics to the average citizen. But with a little digging, I learned that Wonk is fully funded by an out-of-state “think tank” with links to Idaho Freedom Foundation. Wonk just spreads artificial propaganda, not intelligence.
HB 138 eliminates Medicaid Expansion and increases costs to taxpayers and hurts Idaho families. Medicaid Expansion works for Idaho. HB 93 takes valuable resources from our already underfunded schools and leads to runaway costs. A better (and less costly) alternative would be a child tax credit for all families. New bills propose reducing our children’s opportunity to study quality medicine, increasing lawsuits if someone lies (in this post factual world), and making voting harder.
Instead of working on housing, cost of living, funding childcare, or developing an economic growth engine, the Idaho republican leadership is bullying legislators to hurt constituents.
Out-of-state lobbyists control the messaging and local taxpayers bear the brunt. In District 1 we have two of three legislators who read and try to understand implications of bills. I don’t always agree with Sauter/Woodward. I never agree with dumb, blind IFF loyalty.
