Youth among festival's actors

This weekend, community members will have a chance to meet Marcus Spring, the youngest cast member taking part in the annual One Act Play Festival. 

During the festival, six plays will be presented at The Create Place in Newport taking part Friday through Sunday. 

A total of 14 actors from Newport, Priest River, Blanchard and Spirit Lake, including Spring, in the Out of the Box Entertainment production.

Performances will be held next weekend at The Create Arts Center, 900 W. Fourth St., Newport. Shows are set for Friday, Feb. 28, at 6 p.m.; Saturday, March 1, at 6 p.m.; and Sunday, March 2, at 2 p.m. 

Out of the Box Entertainment is a non-profit traveling theater group founded in 2023 by an independent group of actors wanting to expand performance opportunities by performing "out of the box" and in more than one location.

The troupe perform everything from live action plays to musicals, all picked to deliver a seamless and unforgettable event experience.
