There is no climate crisis
In his letter of Feb. 4, Jack DeBaun details the credentials which he thinks qualify him to preach the gospel of gloom and doom. He has degrees in chemistry, biochemistry, and experimental oncology. While something to be proud of, those fields of study have nothing to do with climate change, let alone climate crisis.
Nevertheless, in a debate the only thing that really counts is not the string of letters behind one’s name, it is the argument being presented. For example, a university professor with a host of PhDs to his credit can be wrong about something if he isn’t truthful about it, whereas a 5-year-old could be right if he or she is simply telling the truth.
Jack and many others like him claim that a large consensus of climate scientists believe we are in a climate crisis. (99% now, huh?) However, no one ever bothers to prove that claim. Who are those scientists and what exactly do they believe in common? Neither Jack nor anyone else can prove it because it just isn’t true. There is no consensus about a climate crisis.
But, like Carl Sagan said, “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.” So where is it?
“Extreme weather” is not “increasing in intensity and frequency” as Jack claims. That is a myth perpetuated by political leftists. There have always been hurricanes, tornadoes, and freezing weather. And they are no worse now than before.
There is no climate crisis. Jack is just promoting false information.
