Weight limits near in county
SANDPOINT — With recent warmer temperatures, road limits are making an early appearance in the county.
As a result, no early morning hauling is allowed on any Bonner County maintained road that is posted with weight limits. Roads throughout each of Bonner County's three road districts are posted with green flags, indicating weight limits are imminent.
District 1 (south of the Long Bridge) — All roads are posted with green flags and may be posted with red flags, indicated restrictions are in place, at any time.
District 2 (Priest River/Priest Lake) — All roads south of the Pend Oreille River are posted with green flags. Roads posted include Carr Creek, Smith Creek, Santa Maria, Campbell Point, N. Riley Creek, E. Settlement, Eastside, Bodie Canyon, Holly Glenn, Freeman Lake, Peninsula Road (to the Eastriver Road intersection), Barrett and Stone Johnny roads; Wrenco, Moore and Dew Valley loops; Berry Lane; and Riley Creek Park and Thama drives. Roads may be posted as red at any time.
District 3 (Sandpoint/Clark Fork) — All roads are posted with green flags and could be posted as red at any point.
Per county ordinance, it is the responsibility of the hauler to contact the Bonner County Road & Bridge Department to determine whether or not these restrictions are in place. The restrictions will remain in effect until changed, at which time updates will be posted.
