10-year-old rescued near Clark Fork

CLARK FORK — A 10-year-old girl was found safe and uninjured Friday after being reported missing earlier in the day.

Emergency responders and residents launched a search effort after the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office released an alert at 3:14 p.m. indicating a girl was missing after leaving Old Range Road near Clark Fork in search of a dog. 

At 6:39 p.m., BSCO notified community members that the girl and the dog had been located and were safe. 

In a Jan. 3 Facebook post, BCSO expressed gratitude to volunteers who aided in the search: “Your compassion and dedication in such a challenging time made a significant difference, and we cannot thank you enough for your support.”
