ISP investigating fatal crash
The Idaho State Police is investigating a single-vehicle fatality crash Saturday that was reported at about 4:27 p.m. on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road near Dreamcatcher Lane.
According to an ISP press release, a Chevrolet Silverado, driven by a 43-year-old male from Rathdrum, was southbound on Spirit Lake Cutoff Road when the vehicle left the roadway into a densely wooded area, causing the vehicle to overturn. The driver was not wearing a seat belt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
Evidence was found at the scene to indicate that alcohol may have been involved in this crash. That evidence is part of the ongoing investigation.
Traffic on Spirit Lake Cutoff was blocked in both directions for approximately 2 hours.
The next of kin has been notified.
This incident remains under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
