Rodeo representative to raise travel funds

SANDPOINT — It’s never too early to start preparing for the Sandpoint Rodeo. The Rhinestone & Royalty fundraiser is taking place Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Bonner County Fairgrounds.  

Yesenia “Yesi” C. Pilgrim was crowned Miss Sandpoint Rodeo 2025 earlier this month and has spent her time advertising Rhinestone & Royalty. 

"My platform is that it just takes a little courage," Pilgrim said. “I was a foster kid from age 4 to 14, it taught me that with just a little courage you can accomplish your dreams.” 

Proceeds from the fundraiser will cover Pilgrim’s travel expenses as she represents Sandpoint and Bonner County at events throughout the Pacific Northwest. Pilgram will be traveling to fairs this summer in Cheney, Spokane, Newport, Coeur d’Alene and other neighboring cities.  

The event will open to the public at 5 p.m., with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. The night will be filled with activities such as a silent auction, dessert dash, DJ, bar, line dancing and more.
