Dispatch to perform at Festival concert

| January 31, 2025 1:00 AM

Dispatch will be taking the stage with John Butler (with band) at the Festival at Sandpoint this summer.

Joining them will be G. Love & Special Sauce and Donavon Frankenreiter.

The concert will take place Saturday, Aug. 2 at War Memorial Field. Member presale opens Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m.; tickets go on sale to the public Friday, Feb. 7, at 10 a.m.

Formed by Chadwick Stokes and Brad Corrigan while in college in Vermont, Dispatch has forged its own path outside the mainstream music industry as one of the most successful groups in the roots rock scene.

Over the course of a slew of acclaimed studio and live albums and countless tours and festivals, the band has gone on to become one of biggest success stories in independent music history, selling out three nights at Madison Square Garden and drawing over 100,000 fans to a massive outdoor show in their adopted hometown of Boston without any traditional radio or major label support.

This year, the band will be back with their ninth studio album titled "Yellowjacket" that draws on their reggae-funk roots from their formative days. To celebrate the spring 2025 release, they will embark on a U.S. summer tour alongside John Butler (with band). Dispatch and Butler will also be joined by G. Love & Special Sauce, Donavon Frankenreiter, and Illiterate Light on select dates.

Butler is one of Australia’s premier alternative songwriters and storytellers with accolades spanning from No. 1 charting albums, platinum records, and ARIA Awards across his illustrious career as one of the country’s most successful independent musicians.

His rich catalog of iconic hits spanning over a quarter of a century includes signature songs such as "Zebra," "Better Than," "Ocean" and more. His music continues to traverse the globe having performed on the world’s most iconic stages, venues, and festivals including Fuji Rock, Glastonbury, Coachella, Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and more with his high-energy live show and revered musicianship.

Butler’s 2018 "Home," debuted at No. 1 on the ARIA Charts with the record exploring new sonic territory, expanded instrumentation, and experimentation which challenged but accentuated his core roots sound.

G. Love & Special Sauce is an American hip-hop blues band known for its unique fusion of hip-hop, blues, funk, and soul. Formed in 1993 in Philadelphia, Pa., the band originally featured Garrett Dutton, aka G. Love, as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Jeffrey Clemens on drums, and Jim Prescott on bass. The trio quickly gained attention for their laid-back, groovy style and G. Love’s unique vocal delivery, blending rap-like spoken word with bluesy singing.

For nearly two decades Donavon Frankenreiter has been traveling the globe, first as a professional surfer and now as a musician. These days instead of surf competitions, it’s concert halls that bring Frankenreiter to town, where he entertains audiences with his unique blend of laid-back grooves, philosophical lyrics, and soulful delivery.

Tickets to the concert are $59.50 before taxes and fees. Gates for the general admission concert open at 5 p.m. with music starting at 6 p.m.
