Benefit set to aid local man

A fundraiser is being held today, March 2, to help a local man in his battle against Hodgkin's Lymphoma.

Isaiah Livingston, 30, is battling the disease for a second time in the past few years. He was recently let go from his job after exhausting his Family Medical Leave Act time and, with medical treatment ongoing, fundraiser organizers said he is relying on savings, family and help from others to make ends meet.

"The Livingstons have an extremely positive attitude, and Isaiah's prognosis is currently looking good with a month-long specialized hospital stay in Boise in the works," fundraiser organizers said on the faith-based crowdfunding website, GiveSendGo.

The full Cajun meal will be held from 4-6 p.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and include jambalaya, salad, king's cake and bread pudding. The cost is $20 per person, $35 per couple or $50 for a family.

In addition to the dinner, a silent auction will be held with all proceeds from the event going to the Livingston family.

The Knights of Columbus will match up to $2,000 in cash donations made during the event.  

"We are incredibly grateful for their support and are hopeful this will help Isaiah stay focused on his recovery, without the added worry of financial strain," organizers said on the website.

Those unable to make the dinner but who still wish do donate may do so on the GiveSendGo site.

"Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a difference in Isaiah's battle against cancer and help ease the financial burdens as he continues his fight," organizers said.
