An exhibit of the early works on paper by Gina Freuen, artist and retired educator, will be showcased in a Spokane gallery exhibit.
Freuen created the works using paper and clay while teaching drawing, design and composition at Gonzaga University in Spokane. A central theme of smoke relates to kiln firing and the concept of "blowing smoke" — hiding fact behind a smoke screen of information, relevant then and perhaps more so now. Functional and sculptural clay works will be featured alongside the paper works.
The exhibit continues through March 28. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
