SHERIFF CANCELS MEETINGS

Sheriff Robert Wilcox ended his monthly meetings, saying “after four trial months, we are 180 degrees off our intended objective. It was with much thought that I decided to end these meetings, but I refuse to provide a public forum for one or two individuals to constantly accuse, criticize, harangue and argue, month after month, to satisfy their need to be publicly heard, all in the name of public interest, with total disregard for the rights and concerns of others.” Wilcox began the meetings in December, impressed by the Community Progress Town Hall meeting. He expected criticism, which he believes is healthy, but  hoped it would be in a more constructive vein.
