MAYOR EXPRESSES FEELINGS ABOUT PLAN
Stressing it was his personal opinion, Mayor Les Brown told an overflow crowd that he felt Sandpoint needed “a” comprehensive plan, but not the plan being discussed by the Sandpoint City Planning and Zoning Commission. “I personally believe that a plan should be drawn up by a committee composed of one member of every important and influential group of Sandpoint,” Brown said at Monday’s City Council meeting. “It must be feasible, workable, and logical, to insure the healthy and orderly growth of this town.” Brown also said he felt the plan should be placed on the ballot and decided by a majority of people in the community. Mayor Brown said he has never before seen a matter so controversial and he personally believes that it has gotten out of hand.
