Bonner County Sheriff’s Office to host boat safety courses

SANDPOINT — Beginning on April 5, the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office will offer free safety classes to local boaters throughout the summer. 

Instructors will cover topics including state and county boating laws, rules of the road, safe practices, safety equipment requirements, navigation and boating etiquette. 

The courses will be offered April 5, May 17, June 7, June 21, July 12 and Aug. 16 at the Bonner County Sheriff’s Office’s Sandpoint headquarters, 4001 North Boyer Rd.

Training sessions will also be held at Priest River Senior Center, 336 East Jackson Ave., on April 19 and May 10. 

All classes will begin at 9 a.m. and last approximately six hours. To register for a class, call 208-263-8417 extension 3125 or email marine@bonnercountyid.gov.
