Local firefighters extinguish train engine in Ponderay

PONDERAY — Local firefighters extinguished a burning train engine near Harbison field in Ponderay at about 7:30 a.m. Friday.
Upon arrival, a Northside Fire District crew rapidly knocked down the fire, and Sandpoint Fire Department personnel utilized a ladder truck to fully extinguish the train engine.
No injuries were reported. Selkirk Fire, Rescue & EMS also responded to the incident.
