SEWER FOR WEST PART OF TOWN

Property owners west of Boyer have a new ray of hope that the long-desired sanitary sewer system can be build this year. Mayor Floyd Gray, who has worked on the problem since taking office last spring, said steps have been taken to convince the bond firms there is sufficient value in the area to warrant a bond issue of upwards of $160,000, to be financed by local improvement district bonds. Up to now the bond firms have turned down the purchase of bonds as there was only $130,000 of assessed valuation in the entire district. “This doesn’t show the true situation as regards value of property in the district,” said Mayor Gray, adding that as soon as the sale of bonds is assured, the job will go up for bids and the work will be done as soon as possible.
