ABOVE: The Strikers U9 team, pictured above at Hot Shot, has been competing this spring, the youngest of all the club teams. The U8 Dragons of the SSA, not pictured, have also been in action in the Rec League, picking up their first win recently. According to the coach, the kids showed heart and scored several goals as a result of teamwork and passing skills. The Dragons roster: Aaron Betz, Cruz Lomeli, Lucas Garrison, Ethan Johnson, Devon Nowlin, Ramsey Sherman, Jonathan Gaulrapp, Joshua Beuskens and Oliver Shipton.

RIGHT: Harmonee, who plays for the U10 Rec League Aliens team, is part of a Southside team that was looking for a coach early in the season. As sometimes happens in SSA Rec League, a parent with no soccer background is asked to step in and coach. Luckily for the Aliens, Harmonee’s parents stepped up to coach and are having a great time as they learn the game with the kids. “I want to thank the parents, and another soccer coach, aka Lee Vanhorn, for helping Rachel and I get pointed in the right direction,” wrote Ron Chudy. “You gotta love this small town community.”
