(Photo courtesy CLINT FRANK/Selkirk Fire, Rescue and EMS) During the month of October, National Fire Prevention Month, Selkirk Fire, Rescue and EMS crews spent time in the local schools educating kids on fire prevention and safety. Firefighters reached a total of 1,000 residents throughout the month, highlighting planning ahead, working smoke alarms in the home/business and having a meeting place outside in case of a fire that everyone clearly knows ahead of time.
