Put together a bright gathering of gleanings from the woods (and the crafts store, if necessary) and decorate your outdoor features for the season. Beautify everything from the doghouse to an old mailbox — substitute the pineapple for suet balls, peanuts and corncobs for the birds, squirrels and other woodland pals to ease the hardship that wintertime may bring.

Bright outdoor décor serves dual purpose of beauty, practicality

The bright armful of greenery augmented by faux berries and ribbons shown in our illustrations is easy to re-create in our wonderful north Idaho outdoors. Fir, pine and cedar trees toss their largess in easily-gathered clumps during the brisk winds of autumn, and with accompanying cones (sometimes thankfully attached) provide the wherewithal for a great dual-purpose creation.
