Members of the North Idaho College welding program recently built two fire hose racks for Kootenai Fire and Rescue. NIC student Ryan Moseley, from Oldtown, is pictured welding one of the racks. Used for drying and storing hoses, the racks cost Kootenai Fire and Rescue only material costs, which saved about $1,200 per rack. The racks were built by first- and second-year students. NIC’s Welding program regularly builds projects for organizations in the community such as Coeur d’Alene Police and the Post Falls Food Bank.
