Top Dog wrestler Kayelin Johansen, middle, took first place last weekend as the lone Idaho placer in the 119 pound division during the Washington Women’s Wrestling series Battle for the Bling tournament. The win followed a second place finish last weekend in both Folkstyle and Freestyle, with the series set to wrap up in Mt. Vernon, Washington in April. Johansen has been training with Top Dog Wrestling and the Idaho State Women’s Team, and leaves next Thursday for the U.S. Marine Corps Women’s National Folkstyle Championships in Oklahoma City. This will be the first time all 50 states will be represented by women wrestlers from middle school through college.
