Sandpoint senior infielder Thomas Riley signed a letter of intent this week to play baseball next year at Idaho State University, which competes against the likes of Utah State, Boise State and Montana State, among other teams from the Northern Pacific Conference. Riley, who plans to study biology, took a visit to ISU and met with head coach Sean Persky and immediately fell in love with the program and what ISU had to offer both academically and athletically. “I want to reach my full potential and continue to have fun with baseball, and I know ISU is the perfect place to do that,” said Riley, who will play second base and pitch for the Bulldogs this year. Riley, a standout student, will take advantage of Idaho State’s standout Biology program. “Thomas is a guy who got on our radar because of his work ethic and he did nothing but impress me when we met,” said Persky. “He will be a great addition to our 2018 class.”
