Priest River Lamanna High School sophomore Maddy Rusho recently particpated in the Idaho State Youth Shooting competition on May 11 and 12 in Hayden Lake, taking home several top awards. More than 100 youth from across the state participated in the event, which included three disciplines —skeet, trap and sporting clays. Rusho was on the Hayden Longshots team. The other teams that participated were the Coeur d’Alene High School Vikings, Twin Falls Hot Shots, Xavier Charter School, Burley Bobcats, Raft River Trap Club, Lake City High School and Boise Buckshots. Rusho said she received first place varsity female for sporting clay, second place varsity female for skeet, and a “beautiful” belt buckle for taking secon place high overall female for the state of Idaho.  In addition, the Hayden Longshots took first in overall team awards, with Coeur d’Alene coming in second and Twin Falls in third.
