Martha Cook still has two bowls thrown with ash from Mt. St. Helens by ceramic students at North Idaho College. The necklace was also made with ash, the tag reads "From the volcanic ash we have created Mt. St. Helens Jewelry, a volcanic silica similar to obsidian with the natural color of the evergreen forests that once surrounded the mountain. These memories and colors are preserved for eternity in hand cut stones set in exquisite jewelry." (Photo courtesy of Martha Cook)
