The proposed cold-water bypass will divert water from the hypolimnion, the low lying layer of cold water at the bottom of Priest Lake, to the mouth of Priest River. The project aims to lower the temperature of Priest River by at least 4 degrees, making a more suitable habitat for bull trout and other fish species.
