Firing up the future

NIC hosts high school welding competition

Students from Sandpoint High School, Kootenai Technical Education Campus, and Lakeland High School competed in North Idaho College’s annual welding skills competition on Friday, Feb. 10 at the Parker Technical Education Center in Rathdrum. The event acts as an unofficial regional qualifier for the Skills USA state competition, where students have 30 minutes in each competition to showcase their skills in shielded metal arc welding, oxy-acetylene cutting and flux-cored arc welding.
