Idaho Forest Group to build new Mississippi sawmill
Idaho-based lumber producer Idaho Forest Group secured initial approval Monday for its plans to build the first new sawmill in Lumberton, Mississippi, since the 1920s, clearing the way for the company’s expansion into the southern United States. The company operates six sawmills, including one in Laclede, and a finger-joint plant at locations in Idaho and Montana.

In accordance with IDAPA 13.01.16750.02, Governing the Trapping of Predatory and Unprotected Wildlife and Taking of Furbearing Animals provides that the 2007-2008 take season for river otter shall remain open until a total of 15 otters has been harvested in the Panhandle Region. This quota has been met. Therefore, pursuant to authority delegated by the Idaho Fish and Game Commission, the Secretary of the Idaho Fish and Game commission hereby orders that the 2007-2008 river otter take season in the Panhandle Region be closed, effective immediately.
