Idaho is re-activating a program to distribute Narcan, a brand of the opioid reversal drug naloxone. Idaho organizations can now request naloxone through the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare’s program by completing online request forms through the Division of Behavioral Health or the Drug Overdose Prevention Program, according to a news release Monday. Organizations can request two free nasal spray kits of Narcan and training kits, the release said.

Storms, arctic temperatures expected this week

More snow is on the way. In its winter storm warning, updated just before 3 p.m. on Tuesday, the National Weather Service said it expects roughly 1.5 inches of snow in the valleys and 6 to 12 inches of snow in the mountain area. In addition, high winds are expected with gusts of up to 50 miles per hour at exposed ridge tops. Winds in the valley were expected to reach up to 40 mph Tuesday night and up to 20 miles per hour Wednesday morning.
