ORDINANCE NO. 1363 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SANDPOINT, A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF THE STATE OF IDAHO, AMENDING THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF THE PROPERTY DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 OF THIS ORDINANCE FROM INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY PARK (ITP) TO RESIDENTIAL SINGLE-FAMILY (RS); PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT TO THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO REFLECT THIS CHANGE; FINDING THAT THE NEW ZONE IS IN ACCORD WITH THE SANDPOINT COMPREHENSIVE PLAN; PROVIDING THAT ALL PRIOR ZONES APPLICABLE TO LANDS DESCRIBED IN SECTION 1 ARE HEREBY SUPERSEDED; AND PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS: Staff has followed the notice procedures applicable to zone changes contained in Idaho Code § 67-6511 and Sandpoint City Code Title 9, Chapter 9; WHEREAS: It is desirable and beneficial to amend zones from time to time to reflect current and future best land use; WHEREAS: Particular consideration has been given to the effects of this proposed zone change upon the delivery of services by any political subdivision providing public services within the planning jurisdiction; WHEREAS: The zone change is consistent with the Sandpoint Comprehensive Plan; and WHEREAS: The amended zoning designation is in accordance with the goals and policies of the Sandpoint Comprehensive Plan. ITA working on Bee Top Connector Trail
The Idaho Trails Association will be working with an Idaho Panhandle National Forest crew on Tuesday and Wednesday, July 26 and 27, on the new Bee Top Connector Trail in the Sandpoint District. ITA volunteers will be helping to complete the last half-mile of this new trail that will re-open access to the Bee Top/Round Top Trail No. 120 from the east end.
ITW supports holding LPOSD accountable
In the recent November Bonner County levy, the Lake Pend Oreille School District violated the Idaho statute requiring the ballot language to include the specific amount taxpayers will be required to pay. Omitted was the fact that the levy increases property taxes by over $200 per $100,000 of your property’s assessed value. This language is important to allow taxpayers to make informed decisions.

Area gas prices inch upward
While Idaho drivers saw a slight bump in gas prices this week, AAA officials said that doesn't compare what's happening elsewhere in the country. The average price for a gallon of regular in Sandpoint ranges from $3.64 to $3.69, according to GasBuddy. The average price for a gallon of regular in Bonners Ferry is $3.59. In Coeur d'Alene, the average price for a gallon of regular is $3.52.
