ISP seeks info, video of fatal crash

Idaho State Police is seeking any information or camera footage in connection to a Saturday early evening crash that claimed the lives of two people. Specifically of interest to the agency is any information or video showing a dark blue Ford F-150 pickup truck that was witnessed turning westbound onto Schoolhouse Road from the northbound lane on U.S. 95 around the time of the crash, which happened just before 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 29.

County to receive $1.1M in PILT payments

Idaho earmarked for $41.2 million

The payments cover lands across the U.S. managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, National Park Service and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, as well as lands managed by the U.S. Forest Service, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Utah Reclamation Mitigation and Conservation Commission.

Truck sought in connection to crash located

Idaho State Police have located a dark-colored pickup truck sought in connection with a June 29 crash that killed two elderly Boundary County residents. The pickup was sought after witnesses reported it was seen turning westbound onto Schoolhouse Road from the northbound lane on U.S. 95 around the time of the crash, shortly before 5 p.m.

ITD sets Highway 200 work

Starting after the Fourth of July weekend, the signal on Highway 200 at McGhee Road will be deactivated from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, with flaggers directing traffic between McGhee and Main Street as work begins on the south side of the roadway.

Police, fire officials seek info on Army Surplus fire

The fire was reported at about 10:15 p.m. July 4 with a full response from Sandpoint and Selkirk fire departments as well as mutual aid from Northside and Sam Owen fire districts. However, despite those efforts, the iconic downtown building was completely gutted with some of the creosote-soaked old timbers inside the building still burning more than 12 hours later.

Response to letter speaks for itself

I am very gratified to see the responses to my letter concerning the lying hypocrisy of Democrats in Bonner County. Actually, the problem is worse than anyone knows. The Republican Party is a private organization and does not have to let liberal Democrats vote in their primary. This is a legal fact. Republicans want to elect conservatives to represent them in the Legislature, not second hand RINOs.
