Letter showed writer's hatred
Calm down Mr. DeForest, your hatred is showing. Seems to me Mr. Robertson's comments about Kerry were made from first-hand knowledge, your letter was so full of hatred for our sitting President that your defense of Kerry was lost in rhetoric.

All the real facts are on NICAN's side and that of "goodness and light," of course. While we're waiting for the fat lady's sister to join her for an encore, I thought I'd relate a day in the life of a downtown shopper, and why I don't go there anymore.

Show support for PFLAG, attend film
Many years ago when my daughter "came out" as a lesbian I went into my own closet and needed help in learning how to respond to family and friends. With the support of PFLAG — Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays — I learned to deal with my emotions and to celebrate her "difference" as a learning experience that helped me to a greater acceptance of and love for all of God's children. I loved and accepted her as the same beautiful person she was before I had this new information. I learned not to judge others and that my fear of rejection by my peers was nothing more than my own fear. I still have, however, a concern for her safety and for the safety of all persons who are marginalized and hated by some in our society.
