NOTICE OF TRUSTEE'S SALE
On December 21, 2007, at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A.M., of said day in front lobby of North Idaho Title Company, 227 S. First Avenue, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864, C. Jon Nees, a member of the Idaho State Bar, as successor trustee, will sell at public auction, to the highest bidder, for cash, in lawful money of the United States, all payable at the time of sale, the following desribed real property, situated in the County of Bonner, State of Idaho, and described as follows, to-wit:
Don't assume you have all of the facts
You've made assumptions concerning me as you did with who fed the bears. You don't know if I hunt or fish. As you didn't know who fed the bears or if that photo was taken in Idaho. It could have easily been an animal park. I speak only for myself and don't call myself part of a majority. I don't need supporters to have my own opinion, nor is it a requirement for me to have a hunting license for me to have an opinion. I'm not a transplant; I was born and raised here with a family of avid hunters. My parents had one of the first guide teams in the area taking city slickers into the backcountry to bag their trophy.

An apology to the Sandpoint council
My letter to the editor, published Aug. 23, 2007, in the Bonner County Daily Bee, should never have been published. I left a voice mail on Friday, Aug. 17, for Caroline Lobsinger to not publish it. After I got on my high horse about the City Council postponing action on the byway proposal and wrote the published letter, I found out the Daily Bee omitted an important fact that the complicated proposal had not been given to the City Council prior to the meeting for their consideration. Also, the park had been called "a gateway," which is ambiguous. The Sandpoint City Council was performing their duties as expected in an elected body to do the citizens' business. Good for the council.
No smoking section is not working out

After experiencing the city of Sandpoint's sewer plant accident last month, we now get to hear how Southside Sewer and Water District is back planning to build its sewer plant on the river. In 2004, the community, the Pend Oreille Basin Commission and the EPA told SSWD's board to find an alterative to discharging treated sewer water into our river. The board currently claims they exhausted all other options and the only option that remains is to build another sewer plant on the river.

There has not been a rate increase for many years. Over the past two years major repairs have been made to the water lines costing thousands of dollars. Opinion was not based on the facts
On behalf of the city of Sandpoint and specifically the wastewater treatment staff, I must correct the inaccuracies of your editorial. First the river was not affect for four days, the City exceeded its discharge permit levels for four and one half hours. The four days refers to the time effluent seeped from the pre-treatment plant to the treatment plant. Second "untreated sewage" was not dumped into the river, it was treated but not to the standard level. The same situation happened one year ago last spring during the heavy rain. This plant and its staff have received numerous awards from both EPA and DEQ for the quality of treatment.

Bush owes everyone an apology for war
It should be evident to everyone by now that our president, for all his daily prayers for divine guidance, has deluded himself into thinking he's our leader and protector, when, in fact, he's a devious, dissembling little boy bully who fears his personal house of cards — and perhaps even his faith — would come tumbling down if ever he were to admit that he's been wrong: that he's led us not into some grand crusade for spreading democracy around the world but into a bloody shambles.
LEGAL NOTICE

Fish in these reservoirs will be killed as water levels drop and conditions become unstable.
Don't sweep sewer accident under rug
The big possible cover-up … the city of Sandpoint quietly sweeps the recent four-day untreated waste dumping into the Pend Oreille River under the rug. One day the problem is so serious that we are told not to go into the water. The next day everything is peachy keen. Opponents of the use of herbicides in our waterways circle like vultures around the issue of environment and safety, while four days worth of E. coli spews into the river.

Disaster points to our own vulnerability
The collapse of the bridge in Minneapolis points up the vulnerability to Sandpoint of depending on only one bridge across Lake Pend Oreille. The ever-increasing heavy traffic across the Long Bridge increases the probability of a similar catastrophe. Instead of investing millions of dollars in an ineffective Sand Creek bypass, which will do nothing to alleviate the bridge traffic problem, the effort should go toward construction of the western route, which could provide another bridge for heavy truck traffic as well as an alternative route in the event of an accident on the Long Bridge. It is a simple matter of safety and security.

City needs to make sure businesses pay their way
After reading about the accidental sewage spill into the Pend Oreille River it makes me wonder … is the sewer plant unable to handle the increase in sewage? Since Sandpoint keeps adding buildings and residents, it raises the question, is the infrastructure able to withstand the increase?

Help put an end to dog fighting
A very cruel and inhumane activity abounds in North Idaho and right here in Bonner County, That is dog fighting. Idaho is in the dark ages in penalizing the slimeballs who are apprehended and convicted of dog fighting. In Idaho dog fighting is only a misdeamenor offence punishable by a small fine and limited jail time, while in most states it is a felony punishable by a substantial fine and hard prison time. Maybe those who like to fight dogs now get to find out what prison fighting is like.
